Cristiano Ronaldo is set to reject the offer of a contract extension at Real Madrid, Spanish newspaper AS has said.
According to AS reports, the La Liga
champions are preparing an improved contract for the Portugal
international, and will offer him the new deal in the summer. The
article, however, claims Ronaldo will reject the offer because he does
not feel supported by the club.
Ronaldo revealed on 2 September that he
is unhappy at the Bernabeu, sparking speculation he could be ready to
leave the club after four seasons.
The former-Manchester United star
reportedly feels abandoned by the Spanish giants, and was unhappy at the
club's limited efforts to back him in his Ballon d'Or nomination.
Ronaldo has enjoyed a hugely successful
spell in Madrid so far, bagging 169 goals in four years and helping his
club to win their first league title since 2008 last season.
